Brielle Biermann's dad may be on and off with "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum Kim Zolciak, but that hasn't changed his role in his daughter's life.
The 27-year-old revealed in a fan Q&A posted to her Instagram Story on Wednesday that Kroy Biermann signed off on her newly minted fiancée Billy Seidl's proposal.
The "Don't Be Tardy" star said she was "not expecting the proposal at all" because of how sneaky the minor league baseball player was about putting together the big moment.
"We're together 24/7, I was like, 'There's no way this guy's gonna be able to get a ring without me knowing. How's he gonna ask Kroy?'" Brielle Biermann recalled.
She added: "Yes, he asked Kroy. He actually asked Kroy a while ago."
Zolciak's estranged husband adopted Brielle Biermann and her other daughter, Ariana Biermann, both from a previous relationship, in 2013. They both took on the former NFL star's last name.
Brielle Biermann announced her engagement to Seidl on Instagram on Tuesday after keeping their relationship off her social media. "Forever with you," she captioned the post on Instagram.
The television personality alluded to her parents' messy divorce during her Q&A as the reason she kept her relationship private.
"All of my relationships have been really public and given everything that's going on right now, I just decided I wanted to be a little more private with things that were important to me," she said. "I get criticized on every single thing I do 24/7 and I didn't want any criticism on this."
Brielle Biermann revealed she and Seidl first met in the Bahamas over a year ago. She also shared that the engagement ring she is pictured wearing in her photos is different from her current ring due to a customs issue.
"Billy went to pick up the ring at the jewelers on Thursday a.m. and...the diamond was stuck in customs," she wrote alongside a photo of the proposal ring. "We were flying out that night so Billy asked Ariana (who was flying out the next day) if she would bring it so my engagement photos have a different ring than the one I actually have!"

Zolciak shared excitement over the news of her daughter's engagement with her own post on Instagram. "I’m so happy for @briellebiermann @bseidl21 nothing makes me happier than seeing my kids happy! 💍It’s the best feeling EVER!! Love you both to the moon and back and look forward to alllll the years to come," she wrote.
News of Brielle Biermann's engagement comes after Zolciak and Kroy Biermann have gone back and forth over their decision to divorce and moments of fighting that have escalated to police being called to their property.
The estranged pair also share four young children: KJ, 12, Kash, 11, and twins Kaia and Kane, 10.
